Anaconda
Changes have been made to the use of the software:
Snippet below, please read the full text and info about the use of Anconda (new tab; pdf; IT vid LU)
“--Anaconda has previously been able to be used relatively freely within academia, but in recent years the copyright holder (the software manufacturer) has tightened the license terms considerably.
Today, the use of the software is only free if it is used in education linked to a course curriculum.
“…If the use of Anaconda is not covered by the free educational use above, and the purchase of licenses is not deemed relevant for your organisation, the software must be immediately uninstalled everywhere…”
On PLS computers Anconda is already removed from SoftwareCenter and cannot be installed, to uninstall you will need to contact the Biology helpdesk, and we’ll help you remove it.
Make sure to backup and save any data you have in the Anconda install before removing it to make sure to avoid any data loss.
SolidWorks
Snippet below, please read the full text and info about SolidWorks (new tab; pdf; IT vid LU).
“…The prices and conditions differ greatly between the different license versions. It is important to use the right license version for the right use in order to be properly licensed and comply with the copyright holder’s (software manufacturer's) license terms and conditions...”
“…If the use of SolidWorks is not covered by the educational version or the research version, and the purchase of a more expensive license (research license or commercial license) is not deemed appropriate for your organisation, the software must be immediately uninstalled…”
If you need to purchase a license please contact the Biology helpdesk helpdesk [at] biol [dot] lu [dot] se and we’ll help you getting a quote and purchase of licenses.
