GENECO offers travel grants to enable research stays at another laboratory. The aim of the grant is to increase mobility, enlarge the network, and gain valuable insights into research at other places than the home lab.
A travel grant supports a research stay at other laboratories (not conferences) with the purpose to perform research, which will represent a part of the PhD project. The research visit should be between approximately 2 weeks and 3 months (but we are flexible given a convincing motivation) and it could be abroad or within Sweden.
The travel grant covers travel costs and accommodation only (living expenses and bench fees are not included). It is possible to add costs for accommodation / travelling for family members (children below 18, and/or adults accompanying young children) or for the several travels home during the research visit for students with young children. The accommodation cost should not exceed 10.000 SEK / month.
The total budget of the application should not exceed 40.000 SEK.
The application should include:
- Project description with purpose of the visit (summarised on one A4 page), signed by the applicant and the main supervisor.
- Invitation letter from the host laboratory (an email copy is okay).
- Budget specifying the cost items.
The application can be submitted at any time to GENECO as an email with attachments to Bengt Hansson at Bengt [dot] Hansson [at] biol [dot] lu [dot] se.
