Doctoral student

I am interested in the mineralization of soil organic matter (SOM), the interactions of soil carbon and nitrogen and their relationship with microbial community during the process of SOM decomposition.

I will study how the nitrogen availability controls the priming effect of SOM including carbon and nitrogen priming, and the link between SOM priming effect and actively growing microorganisms at the Rousk laboratory, Lund University. I will work with soil from different systems, and address these problems via stable isotopic labeling and N pool dilution to measure soil carbon and nitrogen priming effect, combined radioisotope tracer based methods to assess bacterial and fungal growth.
