About my job
I work with the content on the department’s Swedish web pages. I aim to produce web presentations in Swedish that are written in an accessible way. One of my goals is to ensure the public gets relevant information presented in an interesting way.
I also write about news, such as findings, ongoing research and projects at the Department of Biology. Working together with the press officer at the Faculty of Science, I reach out to the media and the public with research news from the department.
To make this happen I depend on input from researchers at the department. The more I know about ongoing work, research, and results the easier it will be to reach out with news from the department.
Another matter I focus on is increasing the understanding of how to reach out to the media. I do this by holding and participating in workshops directed towards researchers at the department.
I also write for Lund University Magasin, LUM.
I assist, read and comment, when researchers at different levels want my opinion on their popular summaries. For example when they are about to apply for grants.
I’m originally from Ljungby in Småland. I have a degree in journalism and a bachelor degree in literature from Lund University.
For many years I worked for various media companies. In the beginning I was a reporter at different daily newspapers, and then worked as a reporter and news editor at a business paper focusing on agriculture and forestry.
I have worked as a press officer at the Faculty of Science here in Lund and since February 2017 I’ve worked at the Department of Biology.
