Need dry ice? Here's what you need to know

The department has agreed to purchase dry ice from Kemicentrum and established a routine for how this should be done.

To collect dry ice from Kemicentrum, you must follow the procedure below.

  • You may only collect dry ice for research activities within the framework of Lund University.
  • Before your first collection, you must contact Health and Safety Coordinator Johan Tejler at johan [dot] tejler [at] kc [dot] lu [dot] se to obtain approval. Supervisors or unit managers must verify doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers.
  • For subsequent collections, contact the Kemicentrum caretaker during regular opening hours, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The caretaker's office is closed for lunch from 12:15 to 12:45. If the caretaker's office is unstaffed during regular opening hours, call 046 222 83 50. Contact details are available on the entrance doors to the caretaker's office.
  • As the amount of dry ice is limited, you must notify the caretaker's office at least 3 days in advance if you require more than 8 kg, to ensure that we always have dry ice available.
  • When collecting dry ice, please state your name, institution, department, cost centre and the amount collected in the folder provided for this purpose in the caretaker's office.
