GENECO travel grants
All Geneco PhD-students are offered a travel grant to enable a research stay at another laboratory for at least one month. The aims with the grants are to increase the mobility of the PhD-students, enlarge their network, and to give them valuable insights into research at other places than the home lab. Read more about the different travel grants on the left.
A travel grant supports a research stay at other laboratories (not conferences) with the purpose to perform research, which will represent a part of the PhD project.
Each GENECO PhD student is granted at least one travel grant during his/her enrollment in Geneco, given a well-motivated application.
The research visit should last between 1 and 3 months and it could be abroad or within Sweden.
The travel grant covers travel costs and accommodation (bench-fees are not included). It is possible to add costs for accommodation / travelling for family members (children below 18, and/or adult accompanying young children) or for the several travels home during the research visit for students with young children. The accommodation cost should not exceed 10.000 SEK / month.
The total budget of the application should be between 15.000 – 40.000 SEK.
The application should include:
- a project description and the purpose of the research visit (summarized on one A4 page), signed by the applicant and his/her supervisor,
- invitation letter from the host laboratory
- budget specifying the cost items
The application can be submitted at any time to GENECO, Bengt Hansson, Bengt [dot] Hansson [at] biol [dot] lu [dot] se
