Concerning exams at the Department of Biology
One regular examination and one resit in close connection to the regular exam (usually 1-2 weeks after the result of the regular exam was announced) is offered. In addition, most exams are also offered during the summer resits in August. Exceptions are some of the courses with exams in the end of the spring term, which have their resits in August.

Examination dates

You can find information about the dates for the regular exams and resits in the schedule for each course. Always check the date and place in the Time-edit schedule for the course!

For exams at the Department of Biology, you can NOT register via the student portal.

You do not need to register for a regular exam or resit if you have been registered or re-registered on the course the current semester. If you are not registered, you must report to the course leader for the course that you will come to the examination. Always check out the time for the exam in the Time-edit schedule.

You must always register for the summer resits in August.


  • If you are late for the exam, you are not allowed to participate if you arrive more than 30 or 60 minutes after the start. However, you do not get extended writing time.
  • Correspondingly are not allowed leave the examination room earlier than 30 to 60 minutes after the start.

The course leader decides whether it is 30 or 60 minutes that apply, and this depends on the scope of the exam.

There are various types of examinations: written exams, oral exam and home exam.

It is important that you carefully follow each teacher's instructions for how to carry out the exam.
