Albert Brangarí

Postdoctoral fellow

I am a geological engineer interested in the factors that influence the soil biogeochemistry and how the microorganisms control soil processes.

I got my PhD in Geotechnical Engineering at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Barcelona) in 2017. My research was aimed at investigating the impact of biomass accumulation on the hydraulic properties of soils, which determines their capacity to transport water and contaminants.

After the PhD (2018), I moved to Sweden and I started a postdoc in Microbial Ecology (Centre for Environment and Climate Research, Lund University). My research is mainly focused on the incorporation of ecological insights into pore- and field-scale biogeochemical models for soils. I am currently working on the characterisation and modelling of the microbial dependences and responses to variations in hydro-climatic variables, including precipitation, soil moisture, and temperature.
